As Bryn fights to clear her name, the Kanin rulers’ darkest secrets are coming to light -- and now the entire troll world is on the brink of war.

Will it tear Bryn from Ridley Dresden, the only guy she’s ever loved? And can she join forces with Finn Holmes and the Trylle kingdom?

Nothing is as it seems, but one thing is certain: an epic battle is underway—and when it’s complete, nothing will ever be the same.

Will she give up her dream to follow her heart?

Bryn Aven is determined to gain status amongst the Kanin, the most powerful of the hidden tribes. But as a half-blood, winning respect is a huge challenge. Bryn's almost-human community distrusts people, and those from other tribes are almost as suspect.

She has just one goal to get ahead: to join the elite guard protecting the Kanin royal family. And Bryn's vowed that nothing will stand in her way, not even a forbidden romance with her boss, Ridley Dresden.

But her plans are put on hold when fallen hero Konstantin starts acting dangerously. Bryn loved him once, but now he's kidnapping Kanin children - stealing them from hidden placements within human families. She's sent to help stop him, but will she lose her heart in the process?

Cover Reveal + Giveaway: Missing Dixie by Caisey Quinn

Saturday, August 15, 2015

Title: Missing Dixie (Neon Dreams #3)
Author: Caisey Quinn
Publisher: William Morrow Paperbacks
Date of Publication: October 27, 2015

Fighting for redemption…

I've lived most of my life in darkness, beneath the shadows of secrets and addictions. The last thing I ever wanted to do was hurt the only girl I'd ever loved-the one who brought me into the light. In my entire life I'd made one promise-a promise I'd intended to keep. I've broken that promise and now I have to live with the fallout. Dixie Lark hates me, and I have to tell her that I love her. I also have to tell her a truth that might destroy us forever.

Can she love me even if she can't forgive me?

Learning to move on…

Gavin Garrison broke his promise to my brother and he broke my heart in the process. I may never love anyone the way I've loved him, but at least I won't spend my life wondering what if. We had our one night and he walked away. I'm finally beginning to move on when my brother's wedding and a battle of the bands brings us back together.

Our band is getting a second chance, but I don't know if I can give him one. How do you hand your heart back to the person who set it on fire once already?

Review: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

I am deeply concerned and totally cringing that the letter 'S' in Homo sapiens is capitalized in the title. My science nerd self is totally not cool with it. I knew italicizing the scientific name would be tricky because it's the title so I ended up being cool with that but THE CAPITALIZED S, I CANNOT. It's like going everything against what I was taught. Am I overreacting? Maybe. But scientific name syntax is important, you guys! Carl Linnaeus would be so proud of me. I'm completely off-tangent here because I don't want to talk about how the hype killed this book for me.

Title: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
Author: Becky Albertalli
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Date of Publication: April 7, 2015

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.

With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

Mini-Review: Between Now & Never by Laura Johnston

Sunday, August 9, 2015

I read this one a couple of months ago and had this mini-review done and published at I Heart Daily. I was trying to have a full review but after all those months, I can't remember it that much anymore. So I just decided to finally publish this mini-review.

Between Now & Never
Title: Between Now & Never
Author: Laura Johnston
Publisher: Kensington Teen
Date of Publication: March 31, 2015

Buh boom, buh boom.

My heart thrusts with a force that takes me by surprise. Telling me something I don’t understand. A splitting pain, a longing to slip back under. They tell me I was in a hit-and-run, but I can’t remember what happened that night. All I know is that I woke up with pictures in my pocket, a card from one of those photo booths in the mall. And I’m in the pictures. Cody Rush. Me and…

Her brother was there that night, and my dad, the FBI agent, was the one who put her mom behind bars. What’s the connection? And why won’t Julianna talk to me now? Somehow, she holds the key to it all, and getting close–real close—to her for the answers I need will be no hardship at all…

Review: Jesse's Girl by Miranda Kenneally

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

I've been thinking of not posting this review yet because I want to read the series properly first but I now feel like my views of this novel won't change even though I know the characters from the previous books. But who knows? I'll let you know when I've read the series.

Jesse's Girl (Hundred Oaks)
Title: Jesse's Girl (Hundred Oaks #6)
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Date of Publication: July 7, 2015

Practice Makes Perfect.

Everyone at Hundred Oaks High knows that career mentoring day is a joke. So when Maya Henry said she wanted to be a rock star, she never imagined she’d get to shadow *the* Jesse Scott, Nashville’s teen idol.

But spending the day with Jesse is far from a dream come true. He’s as gorgeous as his music, but seeing all that he’s accomplished is just a reminder of everything Maya’s lost: her trust, her boyfriend, their band, and any chance to play the music she craves. Not to mention that Jesse’s pushy and opinionated. He made it on his own, and he thinks Maya’s playing back up to other people’s dreams. Does she have what it takes to follow her heart—and go solo?

Rike and Peyton fell in love in college.

A boy from the wrong side of the tracks, covered in ink and crooning in a bar is the last person a straight laced girl with a art major should fall for, but his rough edges made her jagged, alive, shaving away the coddled southern princess and revealing a soul wild and brilliant.

They fell in love, despite her family and his past and all the reasons why it wouldn't work--and with their best friends, they made a life. Everyone was supposed to live happily ever after.

They, more than anyone, knows that life doesn't go according to plan.

Rike and Peyton fell in love in college. A boy with a guitar, and a poet's heart, and a girl with freckles dusted over her nose, a perfect fucking fairy tale.

But what happens when the fairy tale doesn't fall apart--but is forgotten?
