May Recap
I said last April that I thought March kicked my butt but apparently April won. I'm saying it again because WHAT HAPPENED THIS MAY? I can't even remember what I did because a minor reading slump (more like finishing-a-book slump) happened, my semester ended (ALL HAIL), I joined a dragonboat team (!!!), I went to two concerts: Demi Lovato last April 30 and Katy Perry at May 7, and just went out a lot with friends. Which resulted to the blog suffering. But whatever, right? Anyway, let me regale you with what went down this May!

Reviews
5 stars | The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West | More Than Music by Elizabeth Briggs
Yes, I only wrote TWO reviews. I am so ashamed and I feel so guilty but WHATEVER. *swats away guilt and shame* I've been targeting 7 reviews a month so I guess I'll just write five more this June. I read books (More Than Exes by Elizabeth Briggs, More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera, The Opposite of Loneliness: Essays and Stories by Marina Keegan, The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord, P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han, and I just finished Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver today) but like I said, I had so much going on that the blog suffered. But watch out for the reviews of these titles this June!

Music
Don't Dream It's Over (Covered by Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande)
Miley Cyrus FOREVER
Echo by Dark Waves
All thanks to Miguel of The Quirky Reader for introducing me to Dark Waves! As Miguel said, it's like The Neighbourhood + The 1975 but sober. Haha!
Stressed Out by twenty one pilots
twenty one pilots released their new album BLURRYFACE!!! It's not as strong as their 2013 album VESSEL but whatever, love them still and their message and music. The latter half of the album sounded the same to me. But I can definitely relate to Stressed Out. It's mah jam, people.
Hold Back the River by James Bay
I'm so late in the James Bay loving, okay? BUT I'M CATCHING UP.
Did You Hear the Rain? by George Ezra
AND I AM CATCHING UP NOW TOO TO THE GROWLY GOODNESS THAT IS GEORGE EZRA.
TV
I AM A LOSER WHO DID NOT HAVE TIME TO WATCH ANY TV SHOWS. Well, I did watch the first three episodes of Orphan Black's Season Three but they were MEH so I stopped. I plan on just binging them when the season's over.
Films
I can't wait to read The Fill-in Boyfriend and watch Pitch Perfect 2 and The DUFF. I still haven't seen The DUFF! :( It's one of my most anticipated films this year. Also, Golden is amazing. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMy book haul.
Okay, you're in for a treat for The Fill-In Boyfriend! I hope you get to read it soon. And watch THE DUFF too! Thanks for dropping by, Haraiah!
DeleteGreat books and songs! Love your cactus btw :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Sugar & Snark
The cactus isn't mine, actually! Haha! I took the photo at my office. Thank you for dropping by!
DeleteI find the cover for ONLY EVER YOURS soooo creepy yet sooo awesome? Is that weird? I'm glad you enjoyed my Dark Waves rec! Now I'm praying for an entire album from him this year. And I also watched PP2 which was PHENOMENAL. So much better and funnier than the previous instalment. I sort of want to watch it over and over.
ReplyDeleteI AGREE! It's so creepy. I loved my Barbies but this one... PP2 was so much funnier than the first! Although I like the songs more in PP1? They're more popular, I guess. Haha! I hope Dark Waves puts out an album as well because WE NEED MORE, WE'LL ALWAYS NEED MORE. Thanks for dropping by, Miguel~
DeleteIs it just me or you totally did not mention MHTN in the books you've read? And whoa. Your blog has been pretty busy despite the lack of reviews. TNWSY, I want!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD WHY IS MY BRAIN NOT WORKING. Edited! Thanks for pointing that out! Confession: Almost all of those excerpt spotlights should have been reviews but obviously I couldn't keep up! T_T Thanks for stopping by, Miel!
