Lovely Vicious (Lovely Vicious, #1)
Title: Lovely Vicious (Lovely Vicious #1)
Author: Sara Wolf
Date of Publication: November 5, 2013

Fire meets ice. Love meets hate.

Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. Since then she’s lost eighty-five pounds, gotten four streaks of purple in her hair, and moved to the Buttcrack-of-Nowhere Ohio to help her mom escape a bad relationship.

All the girls in her new school want one thing – Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter’s never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he’s never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.

Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.

The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.

The game board: East Summit High.

The reward: Something neither of them expected.

Even weeks after reading Lovely Vicious, I am still in a book hangover because of it. It certainly didn't help that I've read the sequel, Savage Delight, just a week ago, as it fueled my obsession and love even more. Naturally, I ended up making a playlist for Lovely Vicious as it's all my mind can think about. Once again, key lyrics included. Hope you like it!

I don't like you anyway
Why don't you like me?
All the things we do
To hurt each other every day

Jack and Isis get into a war, pissing each other off and one-upping one another. This song would be Jack's anthem during the war. He doesn't even understand why they're at war but he still fights.

You try so hard but you can't even win
You gotta try a little harder, you're the comeback kid

If Jack has a war song, Isis has one as well and this is it. She's smug as she thinks (and she really is) winning. Here she is even telling Jack to try harder and be more creative in their war.

You're the only one I trust in this cardboard town
If I could find a match I would burn it down
I only want you

World-weary Jack is so tired of people. The only one he cares about and wants is Sophia...

Are you lonely?
Our fingers dancing where they meet
You seem so lonely
I'll be the only dream you seek
So if you're lonely
No need to show me
If you're lonely
Come be lonely with me

...Until he meets Isis. She seems like a completely happy girl but Jack sees through her walls and finds a lonely and damaged girl.

Brisk pace, brisk pace
I ache to feel an ache
The sentry by the padded cell inside my soul is slain
Free to act according to the nature in his name
The warrior that rests within begins to breathe again

No spoilers but this would be Jack's song during the scene at the seashore room. And with how smart Jack is, I think he can probably think and write these poetic words as well. Really, Coyote Theory's lyrics are always beautiful and if they ever try to write a story, I think it would have a superb writing.

Next next week, I'll be posting my playlist for Savage Delight so be pumped for that! Yes, it's an order. Hee. For those who have read Lovely Vicious, what do you think of my song choices? Feel free to sound off on the comments section!
