#DianneTurns20: Thank you + Giveaway

Saturday, November 2, 2013

It's Day 2 of #DianneTurns20 and we're T-1 from my birthday! If you missed yesterday's post, go on and join the US/Can/UK only giveaways! But for now, I will start with all the thanking I have to do, specifically, to thank authors and publishers.

Because my mind's messy, I'm sure I will forget people and I don't want that to happen. So I'm keeping this vague. To all the authors I talked to, emailed with, harassed on Twitter, pestered for features and whatnots, thank you so soooooooooo much. When I started blogging, I never thought I could talk to authors so easily. I felt like they were celebrities of some sorts. Well, y'all are celebrities to me and the most down-to-earth people ever. I initially started this blog just to post reviews but now, it's dedicated to promoting authors and books.

But fine! I can't resist naming. To Julie Cross, who sent me my first ever book mail and tasked me to tour TEMPEST in the Philippines. I will never forget the sheer joy I had when I got the book in my hands. Thank you for being AH-MAZING and kind to me always.

To Tellulah Darling, who is even funnier than her novels. I love our totally non-bookish emails and I even stay up late (3AM? 4AM?) when we're on a roll. Who, incidentally, released MY DATE FROM HELL last October 31, which is ON SALE for $0.99 ONLY. Grab it now!

To all the authors who toured their books with me and entrusted me with the task, THANK YOU. Especially to Ingrid Seymour who first took the leap! And Jaimie Admans.

To Nikki Godwin, fellow Directioner and the one who knighted me as her official Spaceships Around Saturn tour organizer, you are awesome and I heart you.

To Daisy Whitney because DUH. The tears I've cried because of her is enough of a single post. And of course, to her alter-sexy-times-author-ego, Lauren Blakely.

To Dan Rix, Stephanie Parent, Kasie West, Melissa Keil, Sarah Ashley Jones, Cheyanne Young, Rachel Carter, Sharon Jones, Stacey Kade, Elizabeth Fama, LM Augustine, Ingrid Jonach, Jenn Johansson and all of the authors I ever worked with. Thank you so so much!

Special mention to my favorite cover designer, Erin Fitzsimmons!

And of course, to the ones who help form Mt. TBR. To all the TERRIFIC publicists I talked to, you people are the kindest. Thank you for letting my excessive use of exclamation marks slide and for sending me review copies and recommending books to me.

To Sarah of HarperCollins, you are special in my heart. Thank you so much. I can't explain but GAH, I luff you.

To Sam of Headline, I am eternally grateful to you. Victoria of Hachette Children's Books, I heart you ten times over.

To all the people at Hardie Grant Egmont! Jen, Kate, Jessica and Mimi, hearts! To Caroline of Strange Chemistry, YOU ARE GRADE A AWESOME.

To Guinevere of Chronicle Books, Meredith of Soho Teen, Tina of Abrams and Chronicle UK, Angie of Tor Teen, Kat of Simon and Schuster UK, Maya of The Book Depository, Sandra and Andrew of Pan Macmillan Asia, Amanda and Leah of Strange Chemistry, Ben of Headline, Weekend Reads, Joyce of Scholastic Philippines, Isa of Hachette Philippines, Charlotte and Laura of Pan Macmillan Australia, Polina of Harlequin Australia, Lauren, Melanie and Mary of Random House, Valerie and Cristina of Simon and Schuster, Megan of HarperCollins, Olivia of Hot Key Books, Mary and Cassie of Disney Hyperion, Stacey of Penguin, Erika of Candlewick Press, Claire of Fremantle Press, Ksenia of Macmillan Kids and to everyone I might have forgot and to everyone who gave me ecopies!

Thank you so so much to Giselle of Xpresso Book Tours and Kelly of Inkslinger PR as well. And to Sami of JKS Communications! Shane of Itching for Books as well. And to all tour organizers I've worked with. Thank you thank you!

To NetGalley and Edelweiss, eeeeppp, thank you!

If I forgot to include you, just know that I am indebted and grateful to you.

So that's it for my thank you to authors and publishers! I'll have a separate thank you to fellow bloggers come November 4!

You can also post the button for #DianneTurns20 made by the SUPERCALIFREAKINAMAZING Sab of Sab The Book Eater on your blog to support my event and it will also give you more points for the giveaways! Yeehaw!

So that's it for Day 2! Come back tomorrow for my actual birthday and the biggest giveaway for #DianneTurns20. Thank you so much!

  1. Yay, happy happy birthday! Thanks so much for including me!

    1. Of course, Steph. Thank you sooo much for sponsoring too! :)

  2. Happy Birthday ! Would love to Win any of the book from the Giveaways though dystopian/post apocalyptic are my most favourite-ist (I know its not a proper would but it should be lol)

    1. I love dystopian as well! Even though most people say it's overrated now and not good, I still love it. Thank you for dropping by~

  3. Happy Birthday Dianne!

On the YA books one, I would most like My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century. I've been reading good reviews about it for ages but never got around to reading it.

Paranormal/Fantasy - That's a difficult one... Afterlife Academy sounds cool!

Sc-ifi/Dystopia - Earth Sim sounds fascinating!

Diversion Books - I really want to read Rumble Fish! I loved The Outsiders and I've heard the rest of S.E. Hinton's books are great too!

Omnific - I would love Breaking Point! The cover is so pretty...

  4. Happy Birthday! I'd love to win Wavecrossed by Andrea Colt in the paranormal/fantasy category. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! :D

  5. This is an amazing giveaway! From the first giveaway - I really want Catching Liam by Sophia Bleu!

  6. I love YA books - I want them ALL!!! I think I'd read Not Pretty Enough by Jaimie Admans first though.

  7. For the paranormal/fantasy books I'm going for Afterlife Academy & North Pole Reform School by Jaimie Admans first!

  8. sci-fi/dystopia - I Am Alive trilogy by Cameron Jace

  9. Happy Birthday Angela - I think I'd most read Slumber by Tamara Blake from the Diversion books. What does that even MEAN?

Comment away!

By the way, this is an awards-free blog. I appreciate it though, really. :D
