Celebrating Debutantes is celebrating the debut of AMY ROSE CAPETTA today! Let's all give her a warm welcome!
About Amy Rose Capetta
I grew up in New England, running wild in the woods and reading (often at the same time.) As a teenager, I added other activities, like competitive scowling, starting a filmmaking company with my best friend, and writing my first novels in composition notebooks.
I moved to Northern California, fell in love with redwood trees, and became open to the idea of avocados. I have since lived in Brooklyn (resulting in all the bagels), Austin (resulting in semi-frequent use of the word “y’all”), and Chicago (resulting in three pairs of boots.) I just moved to Michigan and started a serious relationship with its many farmer’s markets.
I wrote plays and screenplays before I circled back to my first love, sci-fi and fantasy novels. I hold an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. No matter where I go, Montpelier is my second home.

THIRTEEN THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT AMY ROSE CAPETTA
1. I shaved my head to celebrate my first book sale.
2. I went to grad school at VCFA, which is like Hogwarts for children’s book writers. Except there are no Slytherins. And we play Horse instead of Quidditch.
3. I used to bake for a living. I believe in the alchemy of butter plus anything.
4. I love a good nerdy TV show I can get really invested in. Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars, anything Joss Whedon. I even admit to being a recovering LOSTie.
5. I once performed a monologue on roller blades in front of Kurt Vonnegut. (No, really.)
6. I’ve lived on the East Coast, the West Coast, in the Midwest, and Texas, but I’m a New England girl. My blood is all maple-y.
7. I have climbed a redwood tree in a cocktail dress to watch the sun rise. (Then, of course, it was foggy, and I had to get down, still in the cocktail dress.)
8. I am actually that person who ruined her eyesight by staying up late reading. It’s a good thing that I thought glasses were the coolest when I was six.
9. I was in a Shakespeare troupe, with the big flouncy dresses and the prop daggers. I used to have a pretty serious thing for Shakespeare. These days we’re just close friends.
10. I take tons of photographs. I am rarely spotted in the wild without my chunky camera.
11. When I was in high school, my best friend and I started an independent film company. We wrote and shot five feature-length, zero budget movies. The last one even got screened at an international film festival. (Thanks, Canada!)
12. In college I took a detour and wrote plays. Plays are hard.
13. I just finished revising the sequel to ENTANGLED—yesterday (Oct 16)! It’s called UNMADE, and it’s the end of Cade’s story. Sequels are hard, too, but I loved writing this one. Now it’s off to start shiny new things!

Alone was the note Cade knew best. It was the root of all her chords.
Seventeen-year-old Cade is a fierce survivor, solo in the universe with her cherry-red guitar. Or so she thought. Her world shakes apart when a hologram named Mr. Niven tells her she was created in a lab in the year 3112, then entangled at a subatomic level with a boy named Xan.
Cade’s quest to locate Xan joins her with an array of outlaws—her first friends—on a galaxy-spanning adventure. And once Cade discovers the wild joy of real connection, there’s no turning back.
