Timekeeper (Timeless, #2)
Title: Timekeeper (Timeless #2)
Author: Alexandra Monir
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers
Date of Publication: January 8, 2012

When Philip Walker appears as a new student in Michele Windsor's high school class, she is floored. He is the love she thought she lost forever when they said goodbye during her time travels last century. Overjoyed that they can resume the relationship they had a lifetime ago, Michele eagerly approaches him and discovers the unthinkable: he doesn't remember her. In fact, he doesn't seem to remember anything about the Philip Walker of 1910.

Michele then finds her father's journals, which tell stories of his time-traveling past. As she digs deeper, she learns about his entanglement with a mysterious and powerful organization called the Time Society and his dealings with a vengeful Windsor ancestor. Michele soon finds herself at the center of a rift over 120 years in the making, one whose resolution will have life-or-death consequences.

Alexandra Monir's Timekeeper combines breathtaking romance with a tale of complex magic in a sequel that will have every reader believing in the transcendent power of love.

Character Interview

Now, I have here Michele Windsor, the protagonist to the Timeless series and I will be asking her a few questions. Get to know Michele more in this character interview!

How different was 1910 from today? What did you feel when you first traveled back to 1910?

I was shellshocked! Until you experience it, you can't imagine what it's like when something you always thought of as impossible actually becomes real for you. It definitely took awhile to adjust, but once I did, I was blown away by 1910--by the beauty, the innocence, and the strangeness of it all. Everything was different then, from the buildings to the transportation, the clothes to the people.

Can you tell us about the first time you met Philip James Walker?

That was another moment where I felt like I couldn't tell the difference between fantasy and reality. To see that the guy I'd been dreaming about for as long as I could remember was an actual living person? It was the most amazing discovery of my whole life.

What's your favorite thing about 1910?

I love that 1910 still has one foot in the Victorian era, while at the same time it's stepping into modernity. In 1910 there are still horse-drawn carriages and costume balls and a laundry list of manners to abide by if you want to be part of "polite society," but cars are becoming more common, and people are getting phones and women are starting the fight for independence. It's a classical time, but also an exciting and changing time.

Do you believe that love conquers all, even time?

Yes--I have to believe that.

If you could have three wishes, what would you wish for?

1. To have my mom back
2. To find my dad
3. Philip

And that's a wrap! Thank you so much Michele for gracing my blog with your presence! Yes, I also believe that love conquers all (I am a romantic, after all) and I do hope that all your wishes will come true. Your insights on 1910 were wonderful, I wish I can also time travel back to 1910 and fine myself a nice young man. Hee. What, can't a time travel-loving girl like me dream? Hee.
